3mm Rock Socks with Kevlar Soles

Attention California Shore Divers!

Rock Socks by MAKO Spearguns have soles made of Kevlar. That’s right! KEVLAR SOLES! I guarantee no other freedive socks are more durable than the MAKO Spearguns Rock Socks.

And guess what…They are made from 100% Genuine Yamamoto Neoprene. So, you get the most durable socks in the world and the most comfortable and the warmest socks ever made.

This is another example of MAKO quality at an amazing price.

What other freedive socks have Kevlar soles and made with 100% genuine Yamamoto neoprene?

NONE!

Why?

Because a sock with these features, sold at a dive shop would cost around $70.00 per pair. But, because MAKO sells direct to divers (no dive shop markup), we can offer the highest quality products for a lot less than dive shop prices.

These are the most durable freedive socks ever made!

Available in 3mm thickness

Features Include

  • The best neoprene in the world (Yamamoto neoprene)
  • 3 dimensional cut (left and right) for the best fit and amazing comfort
  • Non-skid KEVLAR sole for increased traction on boats and durability
  • Toes have abrasion resistant material to prevent toe nail cuts
  • All seams are glued, stitched AND welded to make a water tight seal and prevent unraveling of stitching from the high wear areas that contact the fin pocket.

NOTE: These Kevlar Soled socks do add a ½ size to your foot size.

  • If your foot pockets are a bit loose when you wear non Kevlar sole socks, then your foot pockets will fit perfectly with the Kevlar sole socks.
  • If your foot pockets fit perfectly when you wear non Kevlar Sole socks, then your foot pockets will be too tight with the Kevlar sole socks.

    Good protection

Posted by Matt S on Oct 16th 2018

Saved at least a couple wounds from the little urchins in the rocks in Bonaire! They don't make walking on sharp rocks comfortable, however, they do keep them from cutting the feet! Good fit, well constructed. As always, great service and quick shipping from Mako!

fit, fast delivery, 3mm, all good, I think

Posted by Unknown on May 16th 2018

I have yet to learn what the kevlar layer really is supposed to do (durability?), but the booties fit nice, the fins seem to fit too with them, delivery was fast, no complaints. That said, I know too little about freediving fins to understand why there couldn't be even a thin, 1mm or so hard layer in the bottom of such booties. The Sensation from stepping on simulatet rocks (Lego bricks) is subdued due to 3mm soft neoprene, but just a thin hard layer (not completely stiff) would make this feel quite better, especially with scuba gear on. I did not come to think that the slightly sticky sealed seams on the booties would be an issue. That said, mine have one area where the sealant is notably thinner than elsewhere. Not sure that matters.

Solid socks, but not great grip

Posted by Cory Briggs on Apr 27th 2018

These socks are well made. I bought them because I had read somewhere that the kevlar soles gripped better than neoprene on wet boat decks. I have not found that to be true at all. If you buy these socks, do so because you think the kevlar is durable and not because you think it grips well on wet decks.

    Review of Kevlar Socks

Posted by John Iwaniec on Mar 12th 2018

Dano I received the Kevlar socks and was impressed with the great feel and construction of these socks. Particularly I liked the fact that all the sewed seams were also glued so that nothing unravels. Superior construction and great product; Thanks!

    Excellent socks

Posted by Ken Goudey on Apr 24th 2017

I've only had them out for a weekend, so I can't say anything about the long-term durability of these socks, but they fit as expected, are well-sealed, and kept my feet warm. The only nitpick I have is that the seal on the seams is sticky, and makes the socks adhere to each other, and makes it tougher to slide your foot into your fins, but I've seen the same on other well-sealed products, so I think it's just part of having socks that don't leak.

    Bought for GF

Posted by Unknown on Jan 26th 2017

She says they are very comfortable, and are of good components, but seem to be assembled cheaply. The seams are reinforced with what appears to be wetsuit repair glue which tends to stick to any surface. They come shipped symmetrically so each socks seam aligns with the other's and you have to peel them apart. I'll stick with my Argos but these should work out for her.
