MAKO Spearguns 3 in 1 Traveler Pole Spear

Perfect for small to medium size fish and perfect for travel, the MAKO Spearguns 3 in 1 Traveler Pole Spear is three pole spears in one. Capable of taking fish weighing as much as 10 to 15 lbs, this 3 piece design measures a whopping 6' 7" and breaks down to only 27.5" long for easy storage and travel and allows you to configure the length to your specific needs.

3 piece: 6' 7" long for normal hunting conditions
2 piece: 4' 5" or 4' 11" long for close range hunting and Lion Fish hunting
1 piece: 33" inches long strictly for killing Lion Fish

MAKO uses a high strength, corrosion resistant, anodized aircraft aluminum spear which will NEVER yield painful fiberglass splinters in the hand (like some inexpensive fiberglass pole spears do when worn down). The connecting joints of the MAKO Pole Spear are supported by recessed flush screw on connectors for a smooth release.

The 3 in 1 Traveler Pole Spear includes:

Three interchangeable sections for 3 different pole spear lengths.
One 5 prong cluster (paralyzer tip) with "sure grip" barbs on each prong.
One full length MAKO "Latex Power Band" for 3 pc and 2 pc hunting.

NOTICE: The 5 prong tip has been heat treated and hardened to INCREASE STRENGTH.

This hardening process will allow for rusting. However, the rust WILL NOT affect performance!

Great product, but site caused costly confusion

I bought a spear rod right before a trip and caught many spiny lobsters and fish in Bimini. It performed fantastically. I do, however, have helpful feedback about the site. After selecting the pole spear, the site recommended various tips. I chose one and finished my order. When the gear arrived I found the top also needed an adaptor. By that time I was a few days away from traveling and I called Mako to make the purchase. I explained what happened and they got the product in the mail for me that day. I would have like to have had the shipping for free but they didn't offer that, just a few dollars off. It's hard to get good customer feedback and I think it would have been smart to comp the whole thing. It's not a huge complaint and mostly my review is to help them with their site and inform others who use the site for purchases that they need to double check they are getting gear that works together.

I was only looking for a replacement head for my fiberglass pole spear, but this ended up being the same cost...SO glad I pulled the trigger on this. The 5 prong barbed head is a winner... I'm only shooting California Corbina in the surf zone up to 2 lbs, but nothing has escaped a good shot thus far. The tip has a perfect paralyzing pattern, almost too good. Make sure you put the fish to bed before it goes on the stringer. Also I found the aluminum pole to faster and more accurate than fiberglass. Also a more sensitive feeling when a fish is stuck on it. Loves it!

Good spear. Holds together well in water. Breaks down easy. Minimal flex (unlike some fiberglass spears).

The 3 in 1 Traveler Pole Spear is made of sturdy aluminum tube. Once the sections are threaded together the spear is good and stout with no wiggle - including the spear tips. It disassembles quickly and is compact for easy carry. A great product. It arrived quickly and was well-packaged to protect the product in transit. Ordering from Mako was easy.

This travel spear worked well on my lion fish hunt in Honduras! I switched the the 5 prong barbed tip because I had some fatties get away. Can't wait to try it out on some rockfish here on the Central coast!

The pole spear arrived in good shape, easy to put together and take down for travel. Didn't have any issues with it coming un screwed. Overall great product.
