Item Description

MAKO Spearguns 3 in 1 Traveler Pole Spear

Perfect for small to medium size fish and perfect for travel, the MAKO Spearguns 3 in 1 Traveler Pole Spear is three pole spears in one. Capable of taking fish weighing as much as 10 to 15 lbs, this 3 piece design measures a whopping 6' 7" and breaks down to only 27.5" long for easy storage and travel and allows you to configure the length to your specific needs.

3 piece: 6' 7" long for normal hunting conditions
2 piece: 4' 5" or 4' 11" long for close range hunting and Lion Fish hunting
1 piece: 33" inches long strictly for killing Lion Fish

MAKO uses a high strength, corrosion resistant, anodized aircraft aluminum spear which will NEVER yield painful fiberglass splinters in the hand (like some inexpensive fiberglass pole spears do when worn down). The connecting joints of the MAKO Pole Spear are supported by recessed flush screw on connectors for a smooth release.

The 3 in 1 Traveler Pole Spear includes:

  • Three interchangeable sections for 3 different pole spear lengths.
  • One 5 prong cluster (paralyzer tip) with "sure grip" barbs on each prong.
  • One full length MAKO "Latex Power Band" for 3 pc and 2 pc hunting.
NOTICE:  The 5 prong tip has been heat treated and hardened to INCREASE STRENGTH.
This hardening process will allow for rusting.  However, the rust WILL NOT affect performance!

    Great pole spear

Posted by Ryan Smith on Aug 4th 2015

Easy to use and very accurate. It is easy to break down but I highly recommend putting lock tight on the tip. Used it on Spadefish and the fish almost unscrewed the tip right off of the pole after it was shot. Also used in rocks but tips can easily be sharpened with a file or grinder.

    Nice, High Quality Spear

Great spears, really great value for the quality you're getting. Only problem is that you have to use Mako spearheads with their custom threading. I understand though, definitely recommend this product.

    Good quality

shipping was fast, spear looks good and feels durable. Spear head bent on a couple tips when I missed my target and hit a rock, but was easily straightened with pliers without breaking. Now I just need more practice, should be very enjoyable

    More than i expected!

Posted by Daniel Gauzens on Jun 10th 2015

I bought the 3 in 1 traveler pole spear with the additional lion fish tip and band. I already have a 7 foot pole spear and planned on using this one mostly when i go from land as i like to ride my bicycle and i can fit it into my backpack, however i like that i can adjust the length for tighter spaces and the pole is sturdier than i would have thought. Im sure it can handle more than the 15 lbs its recommended for (though i havent had a chance to test that theory as of yet). In light of this i now use this pole exclusivley when im inshore pursuing smaller game such as hogfish, mangrove snapper, exct.. Im very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this spear to anyone looking for a good inshore spear.

    Works good for small fish

Posted by Hunter on Apr 29th 2015

This pole is obviously not designed with wahoo or dolphin in mind. The pole is high quality aluminum buy can be stripped easily. I put marine grease in the threads as soon as I could as they haven't had an issue. The tip will rust easily if you don't rinse it with fresh water soon after the dive. Everything works great but getting fish of is a slight issue.

    travel spear

Posted by Tyler Oakley on Mar 26th 2015

Seems like a high quality product. It is very sturdy and the band is quite strong. The price is more than fair. I am very pleased with the quality, however, I can only give the spear good marks because of the size of the threads. I understand that mako needs to make money on the cluster tips, but it would be nice to be able to upgrade to a flopper head.

    Good Product For Price

Posted by Unknown on Mar 26th 2015

We looked at ordering a number of options for our trip to Eleuthera Bahamas to be able to spear lobster and lion fish. This pole sear worked great, was light enough to travel with and broke down quickly to travel in the kayak with. The only suggestion for improvement would be to include a travelling/carrying case for it as it is a travel spear. We used an old rod case to protect it in our luggage.

3 part pole spear / hawaiian sling

Very good service. There was a problem with delivery the first time around, but I was reimbursed and was able to order the spear and have it sent again, this time with successful delivery. Good product too, very happy with everything.

    3 piece to many

Posted by Dustin Stewart on Feb 26th 2015

at first i liked the 3 piece setup but noticed right away that although the ends were threaded only about half of the threads were threading together. the threads at the very tip were tapered and were not threading into the female. the aluminum is to light and caused the shaft to easily bend on its first trip to the channel islands this weekend. luckily it was in three pieces so i just took the middle piece out, but now i'm stuck with just a miniature pole spear. In my opinion this gun needs work done to it and i would not recommend this product.
