Good basic design, but it could easily be rewickered to be a 2 for 1 w/a flared and smooth end. Price and quality is good. I'm basically asking about the fundamental design.

Mako's products are world class, Good value for the price. But I want to share my shopping experience, I bought five shafts from the clearance/overstock 'bin' These were the typical oddball sizes. Mako called me and said that they were out of stock on two clearance items, and can they replace the shafts with some from inventory at No Extra Charge. I actually asked if I could have specific sizes and heard an emphatic "Sure, I will check inventory, Mako mailed five selected heavy shafts that retailed for double the price, with free shipping. ~ I was so humbled, AND STOKED!
