MAKO Spearguns Quick Release Weight Vest ("zero drag")

Be sure to get a vest with a QUICK RELEASE!

The MAKO Spearguns, Quick Release Weight Vest is equipped with an innovative quick release system that allows you to instantly remove it with one quick movement with just one hand.

Use the vest by itself, or in conjunction with a weight belt. The Quick Release Weight Vest distributes the weight across a broader section of your body, thus providing a leveling effect while reducing the stress on your lower back.

Excellent for cold water diving where thicker wetsuits are used so more weights are needed.

  • Stainless steel D Rings for enhanced quality and durability
  • Quick Release buckle for enhanced safety
  • Removable light reflecting patch so your dive buddy can keep an eye on you.
  • Bungie to tuck under your weight belt keeps vest in place while inverted.
  • Holds max. (11.2 pounds) of weight.

The MAKO Quick Release Weight Vest holds 8 pieces of "MAKO Zero Drag Vest Weights" (sold separately) to reduce drag and increase efficiency.

Each MAKO Quick Release Vest Weight weighs 1.4lbs.

NOTE: Because MAKO Sells direct to divers (no dive shop mark up), this high quality weight vest with all these features cost less than a similar vest sold at a dive shops. And each MAKO weight costs $5.00 less than dive shop vest weights! That is a $47.00 savings!!!

To our valued customers:
MAKO Spearguns recognizes that diving (both freediving and SCUBA) are potentially dangerous activities. We have all heard of tragic accidents where a diver is found on the bottom while still wearing a weight belt. We hope and pray that should any of our customers find themselves in a situation where ditching a belt may be necessary, that there is no delay and the belt is dropped immediately.

In many situations a belt is recoverable, however if your MAKO belt and lead weights or belt reel are ditched (and lost) in a diving emergency…. MAKO will replace it free of charge.

The last thing we want is our customers considering the cost of a lost belt in an emergency. The only thing we ask is that the individual shares with us (and our friends and customers) some sort of write-up about how the situation developed and how it was resolved. That way, we can all learn and be reminded to keep safety in the forefront of our minds.

Dive safe,

Super comfortable and effective. First time I ever used weights for freediving. Wish I would have bought this years ago. So much easier to diver down and stay longer. No issues surfacing.

Have not used it yet. Hopefully this Saturday. Seems to be put together well. Bought the weights to go with it. You need to pay attention to how it goes on. Really easy to twist your straps. Had to look at the website pictures to figure it out. Excited to use it.
