SOLD BY THE FOOT: 14.5mm Small ID tubing is fast becoming the most preferred speargun tubing in the world and MAKO Spearguns power bands are recognized worldwide as the best speargun power bands available. They are produced for us by Primeline Industries of Akron, Ohio.

If it is not made by Primeline, it is an inferior speargun power band.

NOTE: All MAKO Speargun bands are made of 100% genuine Primeline Industries latex tubing from Akron, Ohio.

Band Selection Guide

  • We recommend "14.5mm small ID" bands (for open, closed muzzles and double roller muzzles) — they provide optimal balance between power and ease of loading, which translates to better accuracy and penetration.
  • For easier loading, add 2" (less power).
  • For more power, subtract 1" to 2" (harder to load).
  • "14.5mm small ID" tubing has approximately the same power as "16mm standard ID" tubing.
  • "16mm standard ID" has just a little more power.
  • "14.5mm small ID" is slightly easier to load.
Warning: Do not over power your spear. Too much power will cause your spear to bend and lose accuracy.

  • 14.5mm OD with Small 1/16" ID (for beaded wishbones)
  • Available in black, high vis green, orange, yellow, purple, pink, blue, white, red
  • Removable logo printed on the tubing
NOTE: Wishbones for small ID tubing can be made from MAKO Bulk dyneema (knot both ends instead of beads).

So you get the highest quality tubing without our branding.
Warning: Not all latex tubing is the same. If it is not made by Primeline it is lower quality latex. Primeline avoids the mastication process used by other manufacturers by using only liquid latex. Their continuous dip process results in a superior base product with greater tear resistance — an essential characteristic for speargun band performance. This process is far more time-consuming and labor-intensive, but the result is the best speargun power bands available.

    You can tell the quality is great as soon as you start stretching/use them. They have a clean even pull vs a great deal of resistance and sudden stretch.

    I give this five stars because it appears to be a much heavier duty band than what I previously had. The bands were a little bit longer than what the factory was but I made them a little bit longer and pulled them back on the speargun and then cut them a half inch shorter re-tied and kept doing that until I’ve got the tension that I was happy with. I can’t wait until I can take it spearfishing! I know that I am going to get a lot of power out of these new bands. All in all don’t hesitate to make your own bands. I have a total of $58 invested and I made seven bands and still have material to make two or three more, that would have cost me well over $150 to buy the bands new !!!!!!

    I work for a lab that does UAS work in Boulder, and needed to find some Primeline tubing for our launch system.     Small ID insert was easy without a tool using Mako´s rapid change inserts. Used a bit of dish soap and pushed them in with needle nose pliers. Replaced the Pathos rubber on a Laser Carbon Pro. Primeline is good stuff.
