Item Description

MAKO / Primeline Custom Made Speargun Bands

Custom made Power Bands according to your exact specifications. We do not make your bands until the day the speargun is ordered!

We use only Primeline latex tubing — the best and most expensive latex tubing in the world, guaranteed. It is by far more powerful and longer lasting than latex from France, Greece, Italy or China. Before you buy latex tubing, ask where it is from. The difference in quality is SIGNIFICANT!

All bands will come with our Rapid Band Change Wishbones.

NOTE: Even though we use the best and most expensive latex tubing available, we do not make your bands until the day you order your speargun or bands.

Experienced spearos know that the moment the wishbone is tied (or crimped), THE CLOCK STARTS TICKING! The latex material that has been stretched over the wishbone will begin to degrade slowly with the best latex — and degrade quickly with cheap latex. There is no avoiding this fact.

That's why it makes sense to construct (or purchase) your bands only when you need them. Our bands are not made until you place the order. This ensures that you will get the freshest, most powerful and most reliable bands possible.

When buying bands off the shelf, you have no idea how long they have been sitting there.

Band Selection Guide

  • We recommend "14.5mm small ID" bands (for open, closed muzzles and double roller muzzles) — optimal balance between power and ease of loading, which translates to better accuracy and penetration.
  • For easier loading, add 2" (less power).
  • For more power, subtract 1" to 2" (harder to load).
  • "14.5mm small ID" tubing has approximately the same power as "16mm standard ID" tubing.
  • "16mm standard ID" has just a little more power.
  • "14.5mm small ID" is slightly easier to load.
Warning: Do not over power your spear. Too much power will cause your spear to bend and lose accuracy.

Removable Ink Logo Ensures 100% Genuine Primeline

Warning: The quality of MAKO Spearguns power bands is so high that there are reports of counterfeit MAKO Power Bands being sold. We now print our removable ink logo directly on our tubing, ensuring you receive 100% Genuine Primeline latex tubing made specifically for MAKO Spearguns.
Custom gun builders — don't worry! The MAKO logo is easily removable.
So you get the highest quality tubing without our branding.
Warning: Not all latex tubing is the same. If it is not made by Primeline it is lower quality latex. Primeline avoids the mastication process used by other manufacturers by using only liquid latex. Their continuous dip process results in a superior base product with greater tear resistance — an essential characteristic for speargun band performance. This process is far more time-consuming and labor-intensive, but the result is the best speargun power bands available.

We use only the highest quality factories and materials for all of our spearfishing and freediving gear. And because we sell direct to divers — not through dive shops — we can offer them for less.

    Custom Latex Bands

Posted by Daniel Brunski on Oct 26th 2016

Ordered two bands for two guns. Arrived w/ both sides tied; a minor inconvenience as I have to untie, slip band through muzzle and retie. Figured I'd see how their customer service was and shot them a quick e-mail about it. Received another set of new bands in the mail within days. Great customer service. One note, I've shot hundreds of sheepshead, snappers, and a couple of grouper with the original bands and other than a tiny bit of fraying on the wishbone dyneema, they show little sign of deterioration.
