Item Description

MAKO Kona Spearfishing Kill Knives: Titanium and Stainless Steel

The MAKO Kona Spearfishing Kill Knives, available in both Titanium and Stainless Steel, are professional grade kill spearfishing knives for the serious spearfishermen.

Equipped with a super sharp point, a serrated edge on one side and a straight edge on the other, the MAKO spearfishing Kona Kill Knives can dispatch your fish quickly and easily.  Dispatching your fish quickly secures your catch and keeps the sharks away.

Wear it on your:

  • Weight belt
  • Arm
  • Leg
  • In your wetsuit knife pocket

“WETSUIT KNIFE POCKETS” save lives!!!

Most high quality freediving wetsuits, such as the MAKO/Yamamoto freediving wetsuits include a “knife pocket”.

By keeping your knife in a wetsuit knife pocket, you avoid tangles with floatlines, reel lines, kelp, rogue fishing lines and rogue nets. This is a total game changer in safety!!

ALL MAKO KONA KILL KNIVES WORK IN ALL KNIFE POCKETS!

NOTICE: Not all kill knives work with wetsuit knife pockets.  To work with “wetsuit knife pockets”, the sheath height must extend upward to the approximate height of the “knife hande”. This configuration ensures the sheath stays in place when installing and removing the knife from the holster.

Titanium

vs.

Teflon Coated Stainless Steel

Can’t decide?  Read this…

Teflon Coated Stainless Steel Spearfishing Kill Knives do rust over time because they have been hardened.  High quality spearfishing kill knives are hardened to enable them to penetrate a fishes’ skull. This hardening process means they will develop rust. However, with regular sharpening and maintenance, the rust is not an issue.

Titanium Spearfishing Kill Knives are the best.  They do cost a bit more, but Titanium makes for a higher quality spearfishing kill knife because it will never rust and it will maintain a sharper edge and point for much longer than stainless steel.

  • Both Teflon Coated and Titanium Kill Knives include sheath and straps.

Fits nicely in Mako open cell pants pocket

Posted by Cecilia Petrella on Oct 16th 2018

Works nicely. My partner wears his on his belt and I wear mine in the pocket of my Mako wetsuit.

    Great Knife

Be sure to oil the knife before you use it. (I use automotive oil) It helps keep it clean and makes it harder for it to rust. Also rinse it off as soon as you can.

great kill knife and iki jime tool

I prefer this style over larger dive knives for killing. Very sharp, and the shape makes it a solid iki jime tool. Very happy with it.

Placed my order on line and received in in the mail as promptly as the US mail service could get it to me. Nice job guys. I only wish I lived closer!

    Solid knife

For the price, it's a great knife. The sheath fits perfectly onto my weight belt and the knife itself fits really nicely in my hand.

Nice and sharp, fits well in my hand

Posted by Michal Biggerstaff on Aug 16th 2018

Rad little knife, as a former knife salesman I like that its straight-edged for penetration and cutting for a clean kill, and then serrated on the other side for bloodletting--"this... I like it!" It fits really nicely in the palm as well, has a meaty handle I can properly grip so I don't even think about slippage as I'm braining a thick-skulled California sheepshead

    Great knife

Posted by William Drake on Aug 16th 2018

Great knife, not the best case. The case has a silicone band that wraps around the knife handle. Very basic and difficult to operate when diving and it’s strapped to my leg.

    It's a knife

Posted by Kevin McNally on Jun 25th 2018

I have not used it yet but it fits the bill for a kill knife and something to cut a tangled line with. The knife locks into the plastic sheath and stays in without the rubber retaining band.
