STEP 1
Form a loop or attach to shaft by sliding mono through one side of double barrel crimp and back through other side of crimp leaving about 2 inches of mono extending from sleeve.

STEP 2
Use a lighter to melt a ball at the end of the mono and tap the melted ball with the bottom of your lighter to flatten the end of the mono. Then push the mono back to the crimp and adjust the size of the loop. The newly flattened end of the mono will prevent the mono from passing through the sleeve prior to crimping the sleeve.

STEP 3
When using double barrel crimps,you must use a "Cup to Cup" crimping tool. Select the appropriate notch on your "cup to cup" crimping tool to fit your sleeve. Then position the sleeve between the jaws so the concave faces of the cups fit into the curved edges of the sleeve, and then squeeze. Be sure to position the sleeve so it is being crimped in the center of the sleeve and not at the ends of the sleeve. Crimping at the ends or too close to the end can cause damage to the mono. It is O.K. to crimp the sleeve twice but be sure to stay 1/16" away from the end of the sleeve.

STEP 4
Once the sleeve is lined up in the jaws of your "cup to cup" crimping tool, squeeze tightly to compress the sleeve around the mono thereby leaving a flared look to the ends of the sleeve.

NOTE: Do not use alloy sleeves on stainless steel cable. Doing so will cause the sleeves to quickly corrode and weaken the joint.
