Item Description

Ermes Double Roller Reverse Wing Trigger Mech

"These are the strongest, smoothest, most accurate triggers on the planet and MAKO Spearguns installs them on all of our aluminum, carbon and teak spearguns."

We are proud to add the patented Ermes Sub Double Roller Mechanism to our selection of gun builder supplies. This mech has two rollers that act like wheels to eliminate friction and deliver the smoothest spear release possible, resulting in dramatically enhanced accuracy.

The patented double roller design uses one roller wheel at the "trigger to sear" contact point and another roller/wheel at the "sear to spear" contact point.

TWO MAIN ADVANTAGES:

The elimination of friction at these contact points eliminates “galling” commonly found on standard reverse trigger mechanisms. “Galling” is the scratching and marring of the metal surfaces of the trigger, sear and spear caused by repeated contact between two metal surfaces, e.g., trigger to sear and sear to spear. This “galling” which occurs on standard reverse trigger mechanisms, causes inconsistent trigger pulls, resulting in a loss of accuracy, missed shots, and gets worse over time.

The shaft is more stable and true as it exits the mechanism. This is because the back roller (sear to spear) actually falls down and the spear rolls over the back roller instead of the speed bump effect as seen on regular mechanisms. This makes the shaft exit the mechanism with much more stability, which of course means higher performance, more accuracy and better penetration.

Features include:

  • 100% Stainless steel trigger, line release, sear and twin rollers
  • Machined to exacting standards
  • Selectable left- or right-hand line release
  • Auto resetting line release
  • Polished stainless steel
  • Double rollers eliminate friction for a smooth release
  • Mech can easily handle 3 (tight) 16-mm bands
  • Fits trigger pocket cut with standard 19/32 router bit
  • Will accommodate Euro Notch shafts of 7.0, 7.5 and 8.0mm diameter
  • Mechanism has been tested in the laboratory with load of over 900 lbs

Dano shows why the MAKO Double Roller trigger mechanisms are the best speargun triggers ever installed on a speargun.

    Favorite trigger mech I've used

Posted by Mike on Jul 28th 2026

By far the best trigger mech I've used and easy to install and I haven't even unlocked its full capability yet. I recently got into testing out inverted rollers so put one together using off the shelf parts using the pipegun handle with its version of the Ermes trigger mech (which has a terrible line release in my opinion- too short- my only complaint) and I was hooked with the inverted Roller. So back on track I then modified a Bleutec Raptor gun I had into a roller and dropped this trigger mech into it (Ive always disliked the Bleutec triggers) and was sold. Line release is smooth and doesn't hang up the release sear at all, has plenty of room for even a triple wrap. The trigger pull is smooth and locking the shaft back in is easy and consistent. Ive use all kinds of guns (high end customs and production) but this one so far seems like the full package. No as long as it last and the bonus would be works reliable with American notch shafts as well- Im partial to big wood guns so am building a wooden inverted roller and Ive read you can use both so being able to use shafts I already have from some of my other guns would just make it that much better.
