Item Description

Speargun Dyneema Slip Tips MAKO Elite

It is no secret that the South African Spearos are some of the most demanding big game underwater hunters in the world. Made in South African by a team of engineers in cooperation with local big game hunters, we are pleased to offer the finest slip tips available.

Combining brute strength with unmatched precision engineering, the MAKO Spearguns Slip Tip is arguably the finest slip tip available.

The MAKO Spearguns Spectra Cord Slip Tip features a thinner than thin, rock hard body and “zero wobble” adapter connection, resulting in a hassle free slip tip that will not decrease accuracy and will not jam.

To achieve the absolute lowest profile allowable, the replaceable 700 pound (320kg) spectra cable is attached via a recessed stainless steel pin and channel with a “near parallel to spear” directional spectra cord path extending through the slide ring (not terminated at the slide ring).

Simply put, the bar has been raised.

Our Slip Tips with male adapters are designed for shafts 7.0mm (9/32"), 7.5mm (19/64") shafts) and 8.0mm (5/16”) diameters.

    Slip-tip

Posted by matthew bond on Dec 13th 2019

This slip-tip is perfect to keep soft-fleshed fish at the end of your spear. I have used identical points, from Mako’s competitors, to land many white seabass. When I recently needed a replacement, I went to Mako because their prices are 25-50% lower for the same tip.

Posted by chad mathis on Dec 13th 2019

The quality appears to be okay although the tip is a little bit morr wobbly than I'm used to. I have not had it in the water yet so I will try and update after it it sees some use

    MAKO SPECTRA SLIP TIP 8.0MM

Posted by Robert Koss on Mar 13th 2017

Accuracy is great. A lot like the mori slip tip which is dead on. slip tip is a snug fit and gives no"falloff/dangle" issues while swimming around in the blue. the spectra was put to the test when i shot a 51lb wahoo right in the mouth and out the belly. Spectra held strong and didn't even fray.

Just as good as a Mori

Posted by Christopher Davis on Jul 13th 2015

I've owned Mori and Mako slip tips, even the Wong are all very similar in quality and design, yet the Mako is 1/3 of the price. The Spectra not nylon leader is easy to replace and splice once you've learned the trick. Landed countless Calicos, WSB, and YT with the Mako Slip tip..no complaints.

    Great

Posted by Adam Gavola on Jun 17th 2015

New to slip-tips, but from what I can tell its steller, just worried about the littler white nylon that connects the slip tip together from tearing. But the tip itself is quality steel that comes sharp and the threading is quality too.
