The MAKO ULV “ULTRA LOW VOLUME” freedive mask has been our number one selling diving mask. It was designed exclusively for pure freedivers, with an ultra low volume design and wide field of view.

The only way to improve upon this popular mask was to further reduce the volume WHILE STILL MAINTAINING AN OPTIMUM WIDE FIELD OF VIEW!

The MAKO Minimus (aka MINI) does just that. Experienced spearfishermen and pure freedivers know the importance of a low volume mask. They also know the importance of achieving this low volume without sacrificing the field of view. The MAKO Minimus (aka MINI) takes this ratio of Low Volume vs. Field of View to the perfect equation, thus further minimizing the volume while maintaining optimum field of view.

The MAKO Catalina Mask still remains a great choice for divers with larger faces. But, for average size divers wanting to dive deeper than ever before, the MAKO Minimus “Mini” is the dive mask for you.

NOTE: Before using a newly purchased diving mask, it is recommended that toothpaste be applied to the inside of the lens to remove the invisible layer of film that forms on the lens during the manufacturing process.

This invisible layer of film causes the mask to easily fog. Simply apply toothpaste to the inside of the lens, let dry and wipe away. Then, apply a 2nd coat and wipe off with a wet cloth.

This process eliminates the film and will reduce fogging.

Dano Testing Minimus Mask at Deans Blue Hole

Dano at Deans Blue Hole, Bahamas

The first time testing this mask, I reached 147 feet and it was so easy. Instead of using more air to equalize my mask at depth, I used that air for my mouth fills to equalize my ears. This is a totally biased testimonial because I own the company, But, I promise... If you are a hard core freediver, you will love this mask.

    Good mask

Really light weight, and I like the blue color. The skirt is a little stiff comparing to other masks with similar price range.

    A great and comfortable fit

Posted by Guy Munder on May 16th 2018

I bought one for my wife as a primary, and one for me as a backup. Dove with it as a primary in the Red Sea, and liked it enough that it might become my new primary. My wife and I have significantly different face shapes, so I did not really expect the mask to work for both of us. Happily we found the the Mako mini sealed extremely well for both of us, and found it very easy to clear and equalize.

    Always stoked on Mako!

Posted by Griffin on Jan 31st 2018

As usual, Mako supplied me with an excellent product, at a low price, in a short period of time. This is at least the 5th order I have made from Mako. I am now the proud owner of a micro mask in addition to multiple 7mm wetsuits and long fins. Dano's product continues to satisfy my needs and the equipment stands up to my repeated beatings (more than 150 dive days per year). Furthermore, every soul that I have referred to Mako has been just as stoked as I. Thanks again! Griff

    Best mask for the money

Posted by Robert Barton on Jan 31st 2018

Snorkel needs about 2 more inches IMO. Mask is the best one out there for the money. Make sure that you get the film off with your preferred method. I use the lighter trick and it works, in case you are wondering. I have lots of facial hair and this mask outperforms every other similarly priced mask that I have tried and some that I have tried that were more expensive. Got this back up for my dive buddy. Is comfortable even out on the water all day.

    Great Mask

Posted by Brandon J on Jan 31st 2018

Pros - Great price - Quality product - good fit and feel, very comfortable, I've used other masks that had pressure points on the forehead between the eyes, but this one feels great - easy to equalize Cons - Seems to let in a little water under my nose, not while diving but when Im on the surface using the snorkel. Although I have used masks that didn't do this, most seem to so maybe its me although i would say I have a very average face. Would rate 5* if it didn't leak. All in all great mask, I bought a Riffe one at twice the price and ended up returning it because I couldn't get it to equalized for some strange reason, replaced it with this one and am very happy.

    Great Low Volume Mask

Posted by Unknown on Nov 7th 2017

So far I've gotten to use this product about four solid times. The low volume is great for preserving little bits of oxygen on an UBA system while performing a Valvsalva and or mask purge. Their very light weight for those looking to pack in and pack out on their civilian use or for those in the Military. I would highly recommend these to any pole spear fisherman or free diver trying to get that extra ATA deeper and push the limits. The strap is also another great feature specifically how it tightens and clamps onto each other. Once these wear out after a while I will be replacing them with the same pair. Thank Mako!
