Item Description

MAKO Kona Spearfishing Kill Knives: Titanium and Stainless Steel

The MAKO Kona Spearfishing Kill Knives, available in both Titanium and Stainless Steel, are professional grade kill spearfishing knives for the serious spearfishermen.

Equipped with a super sharp point, a serrated edge on one side and a straight edge on the other, the MAKO spearfishing Kona Kill Knives can dispatch your fish quickly and easily.  Dispatching your fish quickly secures your catch and keeps the sharks away.

Wear it on your:

  • Weight belt
  • Arm
  • Leg
  • In your wetsuit knife pocket

“WETSUIT KNIFE POCKETS” save lives!!!

Most high quality freediving wetsuits, such as the MAKO/Yamamoto freediving wetsuits include a “knife pocket”.

By keeping your knife in a wetsuit knife pocket, you avoid tangles with floatlines, reel lines, kelp, rogue fishing lines and rogue nets. This is a total game changer in safety!!

ALL MAKO KONA KILL KNIVES WORK IN ALL KNIFE POCKETS!

NOTICE: Not all kill knives work with wetsuit knife pockets.  To work with “wetsuit knife pockets”, the sheath height must extend upward to the approximate height of the “knife hande”. This configuration ensures the sheath stays in place when installing and removing the knife from the holster.

Titanium

vs.

Teflon Coated Stainless Steel

Can’t decide?  Read this…

Teflon Coated Stainless Steel Spearfishing Kill Knives do rust over time because they have been hardened.  High quality spearfishing kill knives are hardened to enable them to penetrate a fishes’ skull. This hardening process means they will develop rust. However, with regular sharpening and maintenance, the rust is not an issue.

Titanium Spearfishing Kill Knives are the best.  They do cost a bit more, but Titanium makes for a higher quality spearfishing kill knife because it will never rust and it will maintain a sharper edge and point for much longer than stainless steel.

    Staying sharp

Staying sharp after several uses. No pitting/rust that I have noticed. I have only rinsed/dried it off after use. No oil yet.

    Horrible retainer strap

Posted by Everett Easton on Dec 13th 2019

The knife is great, but why would you want it to be held in by a rubber strap? It’s difficult to get out/put back, and I’m worried I’m going to drop it every time. Also, I’ve had the rubber strap tear, though thankfully not in the water.

    Nice and sharp

Posted by Byron on Dec 13th 2019

Perfect little kill knife and peace of mind when in the water. I’d buy some bungee rope on this site also to make a handle and to pull it over the bottom of the sheath to lock the knife in when diving. Great product at a great price.
