Item Description

Kona Standard Blade and Kona Xtra Long Blade Kill Knives

The Mako Spearguns Kona Kill Dive Knives are professional grade kill knives for the serious spearfishermen.

Available in two blade lengths - includes sheath and straps.

Sizes:
Standard Blade 3.5” Hadle 4.24” Overall 7.75”
Xtra Long Blade 4.5” Handle 4.25 Overall 8.75”

Don’t let the low price of this dive knife fool you. These are the exact same high quality knives that are offered by MAKO Spearguns as well as the expensive foreign brands. They’re made by the same factories using the exact same materials and workmanship. The only difference is the name on the knife and the price. Because I sell direct to divers (no dive shop markup), my prices are much lower. For more information on “MAKO DIRECT” pricing, click here.

NOTE: These are the most popular kill knives. They are made with heat treated 420 stainless steel material with Teflon coating and superior geometric design. As with all high end kill knives, rinsing with fresh water and applying a silicone spray or Vaseline is recommended to prevent rust.

    Name says it all.

It definitely does the job in its name. Would like to have a better lock-in mech than the o-ring type.

    Kona standard blade

Posted by Will Hearn on Aug 4th 2022

This is the one to get. Small, sharp stiletto type blade with one serrated side. My brother had the bigger knife and everything about it is worse. The sheath doesn’t hold well and the grip is smooth hard plastic unlike the standard Kona which has a better sheath and a grippy hard rubber handle. Not sure what they were thinking with the long blade but it’s half the useful knife the standard is.

    Downright quality

Posted by Georgiy Maruzhenko on Jul 31st 2022

No-nonsense full metal tang of decent steel sharpened out of the box to a point... Oh and its all made in Italy with great quality plastic and rubbers plus an extra keeper piece in case the original ever snaps. Mako spoiling us here.

    Dive knife

Posted by Tony L Marshall on Mar 28th 2022

This knife is exactly the same as the Koah knife I purchased for twice the cost. The only difference between the two is a magnetized case that Koah provides. I would love to see Mako offer the magnetized case for the knife but even as is this is a great value!

    Xtra long blade

Posted by Lynn Schaal on Mar 15th 2022

This knife has performed wonderfully. Even better, I used the knife to fillet the fish I speared every day. The blade is really sharp. I hope it will be able to be sharpened and hold an edge. So far, though, I couldn't be happier with this knife.

    Great Knife

A simple classic design that just works for dispatching fish, filleting, etc.

    Better than the titanium

Posted by Aaron Jones on Jan 29th 2021

Much better than the titanium dive knife. This knife has a rubber strap that holds it in place so if something hooks the knife it does get lost as easily. The titanium has a very poor design. You can just pull it right out of the case. The titanium has a push-button to keep it in but mine was super weak and ended up cost me the titanium knife first swim use. Go with the Kona kill knife for sure.
