Tutorial: Convert Your Old Euro Muzzle to Accept Bulk Rubber

Posted by MAKO Spearguns on Jan 11th 2023

Our stainless steel euro spearguns muzzle adapters allow you to convert your old speargun to accept bulk rubber and bridle wishbones so you don't have to use euro latex and metal wishbones ever again

In your MAKO Spearguns Attack Pack Tool Kit you will need:

  • B) Food Grade Silicone
  • C) Measuring tape
  • D) Pliers
  • F) Scissors
  • H) Lighter

You will also need:

NOTE: Bridle wishbones are to be used only with shafts with "Sharkfin Tabs", Pinned Tabs" or shafts with "rounded notches". "Unrounded notched shafts" will cut through bridle wishbones.

WARNING: Some speros will file their notches to accept bridle wishbones, however this process weakens an already weaker shaft and increases the chance of a broken shaft.

MAKO Spearguns offers only high quality shafts with "Pinned Tabs" or "Sharkfin Tabs" that are almost 50% stronger than notched spears.

The bridge on the MAKO closed muzzle has been raised to accept these pin tabbed shafts. Do Not use these spears with conventional closed muzzles.

STEP 5
At his point, there are 3 options as listed below. For safety reasons, we recommend option #1.

Option #1
Purchase a "pinned Tabbed Shaft" or Sharkfin Tabbed Shaft" and use a corded style wishbone instead of the French wishbone. DO NOT try to use corded wishbones with un-rounded notched Euro shafts.

Option #2
If you are dead set on staying with your non rounded euro notched shaft and want to stay with a French wishbone, you can install our "Articulated Wishbones for Bulk Rubber".
